The La Jolla Professional Men’s Society is a social organization which serves to inform its membership regarding significant local and national economic, scientific, technical, medical, government, and cultural issues by means of speakers and other presentations. The membership is comprised of a variety of professionals, including medical professionals, engineers, business professionals, architects, real estate professionals, business owners, legal professionals, scientists, military professionals, finance professionals, educational professionals, journalist professionals, insurance professionals and the like. A majority of our members are retired.
Our primary activity is a monthly luncheon meeting that features a speaker on a topic of interest to the group. Recent topics have included medical advances, Airport expansion, gas tax repeal, human trafficking, civic affairs, military operations, MD Anderson merger with Scripps Cancer Center, weather forecasting and earthquake technology.
We enjoy our monthly luncheons in a social atmosphere and the camaraderie of our fellow members. We meet on the third Thursday each month, except for December when we have a Christmas Luncheon where spouses and guests are invited.
